Happy day everyone! Not only has Season 7 arrived, but the season premiere episode has Celestia in a MAJOR role! I don't want to go into spoilers (discussion about the episode is what the comments are for after all!) but if anyone here hasn't seen it yet, go watch it RIGHT NOW!
Hopefully this will encourage a stronger interest for the writers to give Celestia more prominent roles and screentime for future episodes. :iconprincesscelestiaplz:
For anyone who follows the IDW comics of MLP:FiM, we're gonna be getting a Friends Forever story about Celestia and Luna. A lot of you might be thinking "At long last!" but there's a problem, how much of you have read any of the comics?
For awhile now, many bronies have been very angry and confused with the quality of the comics' writing. (and sometimes the art) The stories were either too underdeveloped despite how many issues the story needed, or relied on flanderization of the characters for extended the plot or for crappy one-liners. I dunno, I'm not the best person to evaluate the comics but I bring them up because of my concern for how they'll write Celestia and Luna in this upcoming comic. I mean, here are the covers:

The synopsis for the comic is "A minor squabble between Princesses Celestia and Luna turns major and the two decide they need some time apart. When they divide Canterlot castle between the two of them, will the leaders of Equestria find a way to live harmoniously again?"
...I am having very low expectations of this comic and I don't want to feel that! It just feels like this kind of conflict should be handled in the show first before giving the task to some writers who don't understand the characters as much as the show writers do! But then again, the same goes for the majority of the comics' stories. Personally, I have a hard time with my judgement on the comics' behavior because I can't tell if certain scenes are "acceptable" with certain fans. Which is why I've decided to go to you guys for advice. Please share your thoughts about this comic and previous comic behavior regarding Celestia and any other pony you have concerns for.
I, NikoAccampora, have officially left the MLP fandom; therefore, i'm no longer fit to rule this group.

But don't fret; the rules will remain the same. And :iconred-supernova64: will be in charge from now on. He loves and cares about MLP and Celestia more than i do. I'm sure he deserves this spot better.

That is all.
I don't know. Celestia kind of surprised me(and scared me a little too) at the end of this episode. I mean, i've never seen the THIS lively in any other episode. On another perspective, it kind of worried me too. I mean, i know she was supposed to be laid back, she kinda seemed a little TOO laid back in this episode to me. However one of my friends and some other people are assuming she was actually in-character, that was she was just like in Best Night Ever. They also assumed that she knew Discord wouldn't dare send an innocent pony to another dimension and/or even if he did, she was sure she or Twilight and her friends would be able to save her and deal with Discord afterwards. There's also a pinch of kindness done by Celestia here; i mean, if she hadn't sent that ticket to Discord, he'd be left sad and lonely. And besides, she's the ruler of all equestria, she holds a super heavy responsibility weighing on her back; she deserves to have fun once in a while.

Look, the reason why i'm worried is because, well, due to Celestia's behavior in this episode, a lot of unsympathetic people are calling her...y'know, the "T" word because of that, and it saddens me that Celestia can't act fun-loving and laid-back without some moron insulting her.

So, what do you guys think? Was Celestia OOC in this episode or was she just trying to reach a newer level of being lively and laid back, without causing any hard feelings? Do you think we should add something to the defense essay? Please let me know by commenting.
Someone just directed to this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k3SRb…

It kinda explains why the portrayal of Celestia being a tyrant is wrong. I think you guys will enjoy it. I sure did.
