You see, i've been hearing all sorts of comments about Princess Celestia; saying that she's a boring/uninteresting character, that her fanon self is much better(which i MASSIVELY disagree) and stuff. And i've been seeing lot of the "Mary Sue" term being used in these arguments.
For those who don't know the meaning of the term "Mary Sue", is some sort characteristic(or criticism) that is often pointed to fictional female characters that have a mass lack of noteworthy flaws, whose qualities completely overwhelm the flaws. To characters that are mostly used for "wish-fulfilment fantasy". Go for Google if you want to know more.
--IN MY OPINION--
I admit, Princess Celestia is really the type of character that has hard-to-spot flaws, but even so, i don't find her a unlikeable, uninteresting or boring character. I mean, it's her qualities that made me a major fan of her, such as her body shape, voice, appearance and personality. Particularly, i find her a "unique" type of character, i mean, she's the most, playful, fun-loving, laid-back, good-looking, compassionate, intelligent and high-authority monarch i've ever seen in fiction(not to mention i'm a HUGE sucker for princesses ). But even so, she's a mysterious type of character, which is makes me even more interested in her.
When Luna was turned back to normal, Celestia offered her another chance to redeem herself and stay with her family, which showed me that she has a merciful heart.
I also remember the end of the "Griffon the brush-off" episode where Celestia gets pranked with the invisible ink thing, and she laughed instead of stressing.
I'd also like to note the end of the "Feeling Pinkie keen" episode where she drops out of sky and takes the letter personally and i was like "WHOA! Where'd she come from!?" I mean, that was unexpected. She drops out of nowhere to take the letter from Spike and flies away. No more, no less. Very cartoony style, just like Pinkie. Nevertheless, that scene made me like her even more, 'cause i found that hilarious. What was she doing in the air anyway? Was she on an "aerial stroll" or something? She KNEW Spike was about to send another letter? It's a mystery, but at least it proves that she doesn't ALWAYS need a carriage for locomotion and she can use her wings when she feels like it.
I also have to point out the "Bird in the hoof" episode where she pulls a tea prank on the Cakes to calm them down while they were acting agitated/tense. That showed me even more of her playful side; i'd also like to point the part where Pinkie snatches a cupcake Celestia was going to eat right in front of her, but she remained calm instead of getting annoyed or furious. I also remember the when she made a "sad face" while Fluttershy was confessing that she stole her pet. Celestia forgave her in the end, which showed me even more of her merciful side and that she has a heart. There's also Philomena. I mean, Twilight has an owl, Pinkie has an alligator, Rarity has a cat, Fluttershy has a Rabbit, Applejack has a dog, Rainbow Dash has a tortoise, but Celestia has a PHOENIX. That's a pretty awesome animal IMO, i can only imagine how awesome it would be that have THAT as a pet. It's also noted that Phoenixes have a regenerative life cycle, which might make them live for LONG periods. That makes an even more suitable pet for Princess Celestia, considering how old she is. Who know if she had that pet since she was a little filly?
I'd also like to point the "best night ever" episode where the mane six completely break the party down. But Princess Celestia was amused instead of furious. She despises the strict standards of high-class society? Awesome! That puts her in a bigger step above regular princess stereotypes!
I also remember the "family appreciation day" episode where Granny Smith tells the tale where Princess Celestia let's them build a new land, thus, giving origin to Ponyville. I mean, how many Monarchs do you know that would freely offer a land to a poor family he/she stumbled upon? For what i know, a regular monarch would simply tell them off. Say stuff like "out of my way, dirty peasants" or something. But that doesn't go with Princess Celestia.
She has nephew, Blueblood, but he's not an alicorn, he's a very distant relative of Princess Celestia. And i've also heard leaked notices that she has a niece, Princess Cadence mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Princess_Ca… but this one is an ALICORN too! Wow, i wouldn't have imagined that there's another alicorn besides Celestia and Luna. How many relatives does Celestia have? Not to mention that she's over a thousand years old. I wonder how her life was like during all these thousand years. That makes me even more curious about her.
She's my favorite not only because her character or her mysterious side, but also because i feel sorry for her. I mean, she's a wonderful character, but she's so heavly despised, hated and false-characterized by the community. What did do to deserve that? She doesn't deserve it at all! A lot of people consider her boring. a "Mary Sue". and this is probably the reason why people support the "trollestia" fanlabor so strongly. Princess Celestia is already awesome the way she is! Why turning her into a lowlife troll? I hate trolls! It doesn't grant her any character improvement at all!

If you'd like to express YOUR opinions, thoughts or viewpoints about Princess Celestia, then i beg you: be the most mature, polite, intellectual and reasonable as you can be. And please try to put her under good spotlight, instead of giving her more/worse false characterization than she's already receiving. And make sure to JUSTIFY your opinions if you can.
Thank you.

Horse Play: A true Celestia episode!
After years and years of painful waiting, our Princess of the Sun is finally getting the spotlight she deserves!.......which started in Season 7 in case anyone forgot.
First we got Celestial Advice, where Celestia helped out Twilight in deciding what to do with Starlight Glimmer as well as looking into Celestia's point of view when she had to send Twilight away.
Secondly we got A Royal Problem, where Celestia and Luna needed help from getting at each other's throats and while half of the episode was taken up by Luna, Celestia still had plenty of good moments such as her making adorable pancake breakfasts (Now I want her to make me some panc
Celestial Advice!
Happy day everyone! Not only has Season 7 arrived, but the season premiere episode has Celestia in a MAJOR role! I don't want to go into spoilers (discussion about the episode is what the comments are for after all!) but if anyone here hasn't seen it yet, go watch it RIGHT NOW!
Hopefully this will encourage a stronger interest for the writers to give Celestia more prominent roles and screentime for future episodes. ~PrincessCelestiaplz (https://www.deviantart.com/princesscelestiaplz)
Upcoming Celestia Luna comic from IDW
For anyone who follows the IDW comics of MLP:FiM, we're gonna be getting a Friends Forever story about Celestia and Luna. A lot of you might be thinking "At long last!" but there's a problem, how much of you have read any of the comics?
For awhile now, many bronies have been very angry and confused with the quality of the comics' writing. (and sometimes the art) The stories were either too underdeveloped despite how many issues the story needed, or relied on flanderization of the characters for extended the plot or for crappy one-liners. I dunno, I'm not the best person to evaluate the comics but I bring them up because of my concern for how
Stepping down as a founder
I, NikoAccampora (https://www.deviantart.com/nikoaccampora), have officially left the MLP fandom; therefore, i'm no longer fit to rule this group.
But don't fret; the rules will remain the same. And ~Red-Supernova64 (https://www.deviantart.com/red-supernova64) will be in charge from now on. He loves and cares about MLP and Celestia more than i do. I'm sure he deserves this spot better.
That is all.

Mary Sue's aren't girls/women/mares that have a lot of positive traits, their a character that has no negative traits.
Everything you said just shows that. She kind, wise, brave, smart, good sense of humor and justice, but where are her flaws? Luna was jealous, Twilight has a habit of going OTT Rainbow Dash is an arrogant show off, etc, etc. But these traits stop them from becoming Mary Sues, because these are flaws.
